Cyndi Green grew up in Troy, Michigan, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northwood University. Named the 2011 Retired Senior Volunteer Outstanding Volunteer of the Year, Cyndi comes by her commitment to volunteering naturally. Her mother volunteered for school and community groups and instilled in her children the importance of helping others. When Cyndi left her job as office manager at a Portland, Oregon, property management firm to stay home and raise her two sons, it was a natural thing for her to become involved in her children’s schools, community programs, athletics, etc. As her boys grew up, Cyndi’s volunteerism branched out to other programs including serving as a CASA volunteer with the YWCA, volunteering through the Retired Senior Volunteers Program working with several organizations on a short-term basis, and volunteering as the administrative assistant for the Parks Foundation of Clark County. When Cheri Martin left the Parks Foundation, Cyndi decided to dedicate her time and considerable talent to helping out at the School of Piano Technology for the Blind where she is enjoying the opportunity to help out with administrative duties and work with both the staff and students.
